Book Description:
In this updated and expanded second edition, Keith Potts and Nii Ankrah look at key issues in construction cost management in the building and civil engineering sectors in the UK and around the world. Case studies of big projects like Heathrow Terminal 5, Crossrail, and the London 2012 Olympics show the best practices from before the contract to after the contract.
More work examples, legal cases, case studies, and current research have been added to cover every part of a cost manager’s job. Whole-life costing, value management, and risk management are also covered. At the end of each chapter, self-test questions help students learn independently.
This book is a must-read for students in surveying and construction management programs and for professionals in the built environment who are in charge of cost or project management.
