Dr. Ashish Bagwari received his B. Tech. (Hons.), M. Tech. (Hons. and Gold Medalist), and Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication engineering.

He is currently Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Women’s Institute of Technology (WIT) (Institute of State Government) Dehradun, Constituent College of Uttarakhand Technical University (State Government Technical University), Dehradun, India.

He has published more than 90 research papers in various international journals (including ISI/SCI indexed) and IEEE international conferences.

His current research interests include wireless communications, sensor networks, 5-G Technology, Digital communication, and Mobile Adhoc networks. He is a member of IEEE USA, MIR Laboratories India, IETE, ACM, and IAENG.

He has also been an editor, an advisor, and a reviewer of several well-known international journals published by IEEE, Taylor & Francis, Springer, Elsevier, IJCCN, ISTP, IJATER, JREEE, JCSR,

And JNMS, CICN-2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, CSNT-2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, ICMWOC-2014, I4CT’2014, and ICEPIT-2014, 17, 18. He has two patents and written three books and a few book chapters for CRC Press and other publishers.

Geetam Singh Tomar received his UG, PG, and Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from the universities of India and PDF from the University of Kent, UK.

He is the director of THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology, Tehri, India, and is also the director of Machine Intelligence Research Labs, Gwalior, India.

He is associated with professional societies such as IEEE as a Senior Member and IETE and IE (I) as a Fellow.

He also served at the Department of Electrical Computer Engineering, University of West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, and University of Kent, Canterbury, UK. Research areas of interest are air interface and advanced communication networks, sensors and sensor networks, and digital design.

He is actively involved in IEEE activities, has organized more than 25 IEEE International conferences in India and other countries, and has delivered keynote speeches in many conferences abroad.

He is a Visiting Professor at Hannam University, Korea, Thapar University Patiala, and many other institutes of repute.

He is chief editor of 5 International Journals, has published more than 170 research papers in international journals/ conferences, and has written 6 books and book chapters for IGI Global and CRC Press.

Jyotshana Bagwari received the Bachelor of Technology degree (Hons.) and Master of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, India.

Presently, she is pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in cognitive radio network from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, India.

She has published several research papers in various reputed international SCI/ISI indexed journals such as Springer, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, Oxford UK Publications, and conferences including IEEE international conferences. She has also written one book.

Cognitive radio is considered one of the main tools in combating the problem of spectrum available for future mobile communications systems.

It utilizes innovative technologies that increase the efficiency of spectrum usage, and therefore, solve the problem of bandwidth requirements for highly demanding applications.

This book presents the state-of-the-art advanced wireless sensing techniques for cognitive radio networks’ operations. This includes various sensing algorithms for configuring radio networks to meet the perfect requirements and applications in the real world.

The focus of this book is on efficient resources allocation sensing algorithms, present, and advanced wireless sensing techniques, how much work has been done up until now and also summarizes recent advances in the sensing techniques.

Also discussed are the energy-efficient routing protocols, existing issues with 5G networks, applications of 5G networks, and the usages of 5G networks with Adhoc networks.

This book is intended for engineers (who are practicing cognitive radio-related developments), researchers, and higher degree students that are working on radio scene analysis for cognitive radios and sensing techniques.

For researchers, this book serves as a starting point for research in areas such as algorithms for detectors, sensing techniques, challenges, collaboration with other networks, and applications of radio networks.

The fourth part presents the energy-efficient routing protocols for 5G networks. The fifth part discusses the challenges or issues related to 5G networks. The sixth part discusses the role of 5G networks with Adhoc wireless networks.

The seventh part presents 5G network applications and illustrates how 5G networks may be used. The momentum for applications has also gained a further step forward with the latest technologies such as Wi-Fi and Li-Fi networks.
